A Left Footed Winger Who Scores & Makes Goals – Surely A No-Brainer For Newcastle?

A player Newcastle have been linked with in the past is allegedly being ‘lined up’ by Alan Pardew, which means ‘Joe Kinnear will need to act quickly’.

The player in question is Blackpool’s attacking midfielder/winger Tom Ince, a player who on the face of it would be a cracking signing, if Newcastle are seriously interested.

The source for the claims of interest is the Sunday People, a source that doesn’t exactly have the best conversion of transfer stories to signings actually happening.

The player is said to be available for £8m and after turning down Cardiff earlier this summer, the People claim that Everton are also interested, if they can sell first. Maybe not the only ones?

Adding extra spice to the story, it is also claimed that Spurs could come in for Ince once Gareth Bale’s departure is assured.

Not exactly a signing that appears ‘over the line’ just yet but for the record, Ince looks exactly like the type of player Newcastle could and should be after.

Last season he scored 18 goals in the Championship as an attacking winger/midfielder and sometimes striker, plus he has started the new season in the same form with a goal yesterday as Blackpool won 3-1 at Doncaster.

Surely it is only a matter of time before Tom Ince moves on from the bright lights of Blackpool, a clever goalscoring winger who also provides plenty of assists would appear to tick more than a few boxes on Newcastle’s ‘needs’ list.
