A Different Result If Cabaye Had Played…?

What an utter disgrace that was!

Now before anyone starts talking about us playing one of the best teams in the country and this and that, I am referring to Pardew’s post-match press conference on Sky.

I’ve had just about enough of the continued pathetic deluded words that continue to come from this man’s mouth with excuse after excuse.  Having spent a summer listening to how we can’t compete with the likes of Swansea and Southampton, tonight I’m supposed to believe that:

“If Cabaye had played it wouldn’t have been the same result!”

Now I hope every fan reads and listens to those words and takes a second to think is this really the man you want leading this football club. At the end of the day he may not have got any new players but he sure didn’t use any new ideas either. We are so tactically inept it is untrue. I could see Pardew’s heart stop beating when Jonas pulled up! What now?

As far as the team is concerned, where do I start!? Now you can say what you like about the Cabaye situation and whether he wanted to play or not but at 27/28 Debuchy should be a big enough man to be able to handle his mate not playing with him anymore.

I wasn’t impressed with him since January but had confidence he would come on, however he put in one of the worst performances I’ve ever seen in a Newcastle shirt. Is he really better than Simpson? Does Pardew know how to get the best out of him? Or simply the most likely answer, his heart isn’t in it.

Steven Taylor was a disgrace with a childish sending off to go with an abysmal first half performance. Our midfield, which is by far a strongest part of the team, again has no tactical awareness or creativity or ideas for that matter. These are basic faults of a manager who simply isn’t up to the job of taking the most gifted squad we have had since Sir Bobby.

Of course it is easy to suggest that this is an overreaction but when you see clearly that the same problems are there from last season, it’s hard not to. Our next two home games should be worth 6 points to us. However, I suspect we will get 1 and maybe then more fans will accept that the situation already is untenable.

We can’t sack Ashley and no one can afford the club. If Kinnear is waiting in the wings then he might as well get on with it, after all he’s highly unlikely to not want to sign players for his own personal success is he?

I won’t be standing with any banners or chanting Pardew out! But I know what I saw wasn’t good enough, this man isn’t good enough and after one game we need change!
