Tim Krul Off To Arsenal Indeed – What Is 2 + 2 In Dutch?

The crazy season is definitely upon us. Use any combination of ‘star swoop, club insider, done deal, over the line, expected to, any day, imminent, strong interest, preparing bid, 99% certain’ and so on, then add a player and  another club.

This morning a story that is being repeated again and again is ‘Tim Krul Off To Arsenal’.

When you trace it back to its source it appears to have come from a small website in Holland that is infamous for throwing out headlines without any substance.

When the headlines come from a dodgy foreign media source, for some reason they always seem that little bit more believable for more people, than if it starts off in the English media.

The story is basically;

Tim Krul is a class player who is good enough to play for any club in England (and the wider world).

Arsenal are a top (four) club who have made clear their intent to spend big money this season to improve their team.

No quotes from any agent, player, manager, reliable source.

Just add 2 (class player) and 2 (top club looking for class players and willing to spend big) = A waste of everybody’s time.
