Tim Krul Is Back – Sort Of

8 years ago

I got a little excited when I saw reports of Tim Krul being on his way back.

If Newcastle United are to have a successful season then we could do with our one true world class player appearing 38 times, just as he did two seasons ago when Newcastle finished fifth.

However, while the Dutch keeper does appear to be on the way back from injury, there must be a doubt as to whether he will line up against Manchester City in less than three weeks time.

Talking to the Shields Gazette, this is what Alan Pardew had to say about his star man;

“Tim has had a tough week but he has come through that and we will have to see where he is, though I have no worries about him at all.”

The Gazette go on to speculate that Krul may make the friendlies against Rangers and Braga but if he doesn’t make even that Braga match, then it is hard to see the manager chucking him in against the team who finished Champions the season we finished fifth
