The Heart And Soul Have Been Ripped Out Of Newcastle United AND Me

I’m really not upset or bothered to be honest.

I can afford to renew but while I’ve seen some crap over the seasons over the years since the middle 70s, at least then we knew what we were getting and went with it.

This time around is much different as its so frustrating having to watch the quality of football, lack of fight and shocking tactics. The main man in any football club is always the manager and that decision above all others recruitment wise is the most important but Ashley is wrong in my opinion. Time will tell of course.

What’s going on is taking the heart and soul out of this club, no singing section for example. I really cannot stomach away fans outsinging us at home, this I haven’t often seen in my lifetime. I stay the full 90 mins when we get battered at home because I believe that’s when you really need to support your team but like I said it is painful.

I will continue to go to away games this coming season but sadly I will lose my 60 odd loyalty points that I started to build up and that will be my main disappointment.

I even said to my teenage son that I could get him a ticket next to my cousins but he’s not interested in going without me, even though he’ll continue to go to about 8 or so away games next season, as we did this time and which included 3 in Europe.

We have agreed to become PAYG (PAY AS YOU GO FANS).

My son and I had already got a pass out (off the wife) to go to Germany to take in a Dortmund and St.Pauli game because I have told him about my couple of trips to St.Pauli.

My only regret now will be missing out on a safc ticket for my son in October but feel losing my points won’t matter for the next couple of seasons as I really can’t see us getting to any cup finals, meaning I am now prepared to take my chances.

Lastly my wife is quite pleased with my decision and means we can get away for a few more weekends and it means popping away for a few days for an international match (which I really enjoy) will be more acceptable and no more battling for time off work for home games.

Not the end of the road but a massive reality check for me and countless others.
