Peter Beardsley Joins The World Map Of Newcastle Fans

Resident of Vancouver, Mike Fraser brings us today’s offfering.

No doubt having O’Brien in town and Oba plying his trade a couple hours away is noteworthy ([intlink id=”31274″ type=”post”]see recent photo story[/intlink]), but when it comes to Toon-Whitecap connections I believe the attached picture trumps all.

Peter Beardsley pictured at BC Place, home of the Vancouver Whitecaps, in 1983 (he also played there in 1981).

Albeit, it was a different league, so technically an entirely different team.  But luckily we’re an extremely superficial  city, so it’s perfectly alright to make points based solely on how things appear.
