Pardew Makes Accusations Of ‘Tapping-Up’ But Then Names Players Newcastle Are After!

Alan Pardew has arrived back in the midst of the Summer Transfer Market and straight away jumped in with both feet, at least in terms of talking about it! As we reported earlier today, in terms of actually signing players, there is some mystery reason according to the manager as to [intlink id=”31224″ type=”post”]why Newcastle can\’t buy players in the same way other clubs do[/intlink].

I thought it was bad enough when nothing was happening transfer wise but now Alan Pardew has returned to add his own nonsense to the no transfer action, it is really doing my head in.

A few days we reported comments that PSG manager, Laurent Blanc, had made to L’Equipe;

“It (buying Yohan Cabaye) offers a multitude of cover positions in the middle. The midfield area will certainly be strengthened because there will be departures.”

Then this morning we had Alan Pardew when asked by the Chronicle whether Blanc was being disrespectful talking publicly about interest in Cabaye;

“A little bit, I don’t think that is right.

He (Blanc) can get on the phone to me or make a bid.

I think that is the right way to do it.”

The third point of this triangular story being Alan Pardew interviewed in the Shields Gazette today and talking publicly about interest in named players of other clubs…

“Both of those players (Remy and Bent) are on our list, I make no bones about that, but they’re under contract at other clubs. It is difficult, you have to be careful.

It is nice for our fans to hear names but I don’t want to disrupt other clubs’ preparations.”

So hang on, it is wrong for Laurent Blanc to say he admires Yohan Cabaye and is interested in him, though it is ok for Alan Pardew to say that he would like to sign Darren Ben and Loic Remy, how does that work?!!

The manager names the players and then a bit like a naughty schoolboy says; ‘It is difficult, you have to be careful…I don’t want to disrupt other clubs’ preparations.’

I don’t know what is going on and where we will end up but what I do know is that the way Newcastle United acts in so many ways is just plain wrong.

It is almost making me nostalgic to hear JFK talking about winning the World Cup and wrestling Grizzly Bears as a schoolboy.
