Pardew Goes For Strong Starting Line-Up At Motherwell To Boost Morale

Newcastle United will be hoping to blow away the cobwebs and a little of the close season negativity that has built up due to the lack of signings.

Motherwell performed well last year to take second place in the Scottish Premier and with United so early in their preparations it will provide a decent challenge.

Earlier today Alan Pardew indicated he would play a young team with a sprinkling of experience.

He may have been slightly economical with the truth as it appears he is desperate to start off on the right foot this pre-season.

The manager had confirmed that Mapou and Anita would start but they are joined by the likes of Sissoko, Gouffran and Williamson amongst others.

Lining up as follows;

Elliot, Tavernier, Williamson, Mapou, Dummett, Anita, Sissoko, Overtan, Vucki, Sammy Ameobi, Gouffran

While on the bench we have;

Alnwick, Ferguson, Streete, Steven Taylor, Abeid, Amalfitano, Marveaux and Campbell.
