Papiss Cisse Names The Three Players Crucial To Newcastle United
Last season wasn’t great and one of the players who suffered the most was Papiss Cisse.
A player who is the personification of ‘shoot on sight’ unfortunately found he was shooting everywhere but the back of the net until he found late form with a series of last gasp winners which both staved off relegation and kept the European dream beating a little longer.
Like many strikers, Cisse relies on being part of a team who will create the chances that he can finish, as was shown with his long range scorcher against Southampton last season, the chances he needs aren’t necessarily ones where they are handed on a plate to him for a tap in.
Older fans would to an extent compare him to Supermac who also was that kind of instinctive striker who shot on sight, Cisse isn’t going to do a Beardsley and weave his way past four or five defenders before cheekily outwitting the keeper.
In terms of players vital to his game, as well as the team overall, Cisse has made it clear who he sees as the vital players to provide him and his team-mates with the inspiration and chances to put us back up at the right end of the table.
This is what Papiss had to say to the Chronicle;
“I enjoy playing for this team and next season we will challenge.
We’ve Hatem Ben Arfa, Sissoko and Yohan Cabaye and the team can challenge at the higher end of the table.”
