Newcastle’s Greatest Ever Striker?
Speaking to any Newcastle fan of a certain age and there is only one striker who stands head and shoulders above the rest.
The answer surprisingly is not Jackie Milburn. While Jackie was number one while both were at the club, Len White’s stylish presence lasted beyond that and he has a very special place in the fans from that era.
Here at The Mag we have just started our very own auctions and you can click HERE to view them all.
We are sourcing classic items and images from across Newcastle United’s proud history and who better than the great Len White to feature in a couple of the first batch of items.
White is one of a 1958/59 team group featured on a very collectable trading card, while just look at the centre forward oozing class on the cover of this issue of the much treasured Charles Buchan monthly magazines, this one from 1959.
With a deep love of United’s history and the classic memorabilia and programmes that are a big part of that, we have always intended to bring you our very own auctions.
Delving into Newcastle’s extraordinary history, each week we will be putting a number of items up for auction via Ebay, with prices starting from as a little as 99p.
Not everybody will want to bid on the items but we are sure that the range of items will provoke interest and debate, plus the memories flooding back.
The opening selection brings you a range from the 1950s to the present day; Frank Brennan, Champions League, Charlie Buchan, Wyn Davies, Len White and much much more.
Every week a selection including programmes, magazines, tickets, trading cards and clothing CLICK HERE to visit.
