Newcastle v Sunderland Derby Match Arrests Pass The Century Mark
Police have now arrested four more people suspected of being involved in the disorder on derby day back in April.
Not exactly the best day in the club and city’s history as the players embarrassed us on the pitch and countless other of our fellow residents did the same job on the streets afterwards.
The latest arrests now make it over a century (102) and the police are saying that they expect that number top grow even further. Exactly what sentences are handed down to many of the worst offenders remains to be seen but the club immediately stated that anybody found guilty would get lifetime bans from St.James’ Park.
The Northumbria Police are commander, Chief Superintendent Gary Calvert said;
“This is still very much an active investigation and we continue to receive information from the public.
I would like to thank the public again for their continued help in providing information to us about those involved in the disturbance.”
