Newcastle United Are Three Players Away From Having A FantasticTeam
My emotions are currently up and down like a bairn’s yo-yo when it comes to Newcastle United these days.
From optimism to sheer despair, and back again, with each blog or news article I read.
I appreciate and understand all points of view but while writing this article I am beginning to get excited, dare I say quite confident for the new season.
I hate the phrase ‘on paper’ but I genuinely believe we are 3 players away from having a fantastic team and a successful season. We cannot afford to lose any more players (apart from Dan Gosling). This is imperative!
It is the World Cup at the end of the season and players will be desperate to have a stand-out year so they are considered for the summer of 2014. This applies to the majority of our first team players.
(4-2-3-1) Krul; Debuchy, Mapou, Colo, Santon; Sissoko, Tiote; Ben Arfa, Cabaye, Sinclair/Ince; Cisse/Remy/Bent
‘On paper’, this looks an extremely strong premier league team; in reserve we have Saylor, Gouffran, Marv, Jonas, Haidara, Vuckic, Campbell, Bigi – all pushing for places.
This excites me and if we can get the 3 players in we need; two strikers and a left sided player, I believe we will emulate our 2011/12 season. This team is stronger than the side we had then.
I may well write another piece in 15 minutes when my optimism has been well and truly stripped by yet another negative article, or I might just watch that 2011-2012 season review and remember why I adore Newcastle United…
