Joe Kinnear Makes His First Signing
As further proof that any new signings for Newcastle happen with little news in advance.
Only around an hour ago [intlink id=”31793″ type=”post”]we reported[/intlink] Sky Sports speculation that Joe Kinnear was making his first signing of the summer and sure enough, the Evening Chronicle have just confirmed that Kinnear has indeed got his mate Mick Harford onto the Newcastle United payroll.
No confirmation of Harford’s exact role has been made yet but it is believed that he could play as a lone striker up front, or Kinnear may try and team him up with a Terry Gibson like figure to take advantage of the knockdowns. Wisey could be in line to make a Toon comeback to knock in the crosses and help United score their first Premier League goal from a corner in two years.
Kinnear believes that 54 year old Harford has the ideal qualities for the role and his experience will prove invaluable.
Newcastle fans are now being offered a choice of shotgun, strong rope, or a cliff to jump off, with every season ticket purchased.
