Club Uses Some Of Extra TV Money To Give Fans Free Away Travel
A number of clubs have came up with initiatives to put a little bit of the extra TV riches to the direct benefit of the fans.
This is how the Stoke Chief Executive, Tony Scholes, announced the decision;
“We were looking at this around a year ago, looking at what we could do to keep football as affordable as possible.
Our home match tickets haven’t gone up for the last five years but everybody knows that following their team away from home can be expensive.
With the new broadcasting deals, that arguably gave us the opportunity to do something and spend a little bit of money back on the supporters.”
I wonder what initiatives Newcastle United are coming up with to help direct some of the financial windfall towards the fans?
