Battle Plans Rather Than Battle Lines At St.James’ Park?

The current situation at SJP is extremely depressing for fans.

The very fact that Joe Kinnear tried to parachute his mate Mick Harford into NUFC, gave me the impression that he was beginning his offensive (in all senses!!) to take control of the first team.

Although Pardew has a number of faults, I’d still have him any day over the foul mouthed buffoon and his miserable mackem misfit. Also, the fact that he has done this whilst Pardew and the squad are at the pre-season training camp in Portugal.

It’s nearly twenty years since Kinnear last did a decent  job at Wimbledon, while Mick Harford’s record is hardly going to make many decent managers lose sleep.

Surely as Director of Football he should be helping with the battle plans for the season ahead with player recruitment.

The silence from the owner is sadly predictable.

I wish he would run NUFC as well (and as profitably ) as the rest of his business empire.  He needs to rein in the egos and knock some sense into everyone.  Instead, it appears that he is burying his head in the sand and hoping it will all disappear.

While all the while the new season draws ever closer, with United being the only team not to strengthen yet.

I want us to do well.  Sadly, I fear another mediocre season and hope there are at least 3 worse teams.
