Alan Pardew’s ‘Not Exactly Sure What Joe Kinnear’s Media Profile Will Be’

Whenever Newcastle United buy payers or change managers, or even appoint a Director of Football, after the initial reaction you hope for the best and support everybody in black and white on a matchday, whilst at the same time acknowledging those fears that just won’t go away.

Alan Pardew is providing us with plenty of quotes since his return to public view this week, quotes which have sometimes answered some questions, though on other occasions we are just as clueless after reading them.

The latest one today is a quote given to the Chronicle regarding what the manager and director of football’s roles are with the media, in terms of confirmation of whatever, we are left with a glass half full/empty situation;

“After games and doing my normal Press conferences will continue, that is my job, I’m not exactly sure on what Joe’s media profile will be.”

The Chronicle giong on to comment that they were waiting for clarification as to whether Joe Kinnear will be ‘unveiled’ in a press conference on his return from holiday.”

So we can take it that in terms of dealing with the media, Alan Pardew sees it as no change but by his own admission hasn’t a clue as to what Joe Kinnear is going to be getting up to.

Having JFK’s Coronation some five or six weeks after his own self-pronouncement as our new leader, will be slightly bizarre, but in terms of what Joe’s media profile will be I think you will all join me in hoping it is ‘Anonymous’, whilst at the same time…fearing the worst.
