A Week When It Could Pay To Stay Away From Cheick Tiote

8 years ago

Cheick Tiote has amassed an ‘impressive’ number of cards in his time at St.James’ Park and his impetuous nature is consistently there to be seen.

The derby games in particular have seen Tiote at his best/worst, including the sending off at their place last year, which to be fair was a bit unlucky.

What a week though to (not!) be around Cheick. On 27th October Newcastle play the mackems at their place and the next day a scheduled three day trial is due to start for him to answer the various charges detailed below.

It could be one explosive derby…

Tiote’s  has been charged with five offences, which include fraud and using a false identity document.

It was back in February when Cheick was stopped by police near the training ground and his car seized, with the player accused of using a fake Belgian driving licence to get a UK one.

In short the five charges Cheick Tiote faces are;

Fraud by false representation.

Possessing an ID document that was false and that he knew or believed to be false, to get a Belgian driving licence.

Providing false information in order to obtain insurance.

Driving his Chevrolet without a licence.

Driving without third party insurance.
