What Made Newcastle Fans Angry Last Season?

In this year’s massive fans’ poll in The Mag we asked the questions; what was your low point of the season and also, what made you angry in the last twelve months.

Not surprisingly there was no shortage of supporters wanting to let us know what had done their heads in this past season.

LOW POINT OF SEASON

Liverpool (Lee Martin and countless others)
Mackems, Liverpool, the season generally (Mick Hardman)
Demba Ba situation allowed to linger and no direct replacement (Ian Skinner)
Brighton in the FA Cup (Ian Skinner)
Playing possession when six down against Liverpool (Anonymous)
Too many to mention – but here’s a small selection; (Bruce Renwick)
Never really getting out of the relegation dogfight until the end of the season/Mackems at home was painful
Liverpool capitulation was equally bad
Realising that the kids aren’t good enough to step into the first team
Being cheated by the officials at Wigan…..the extra point and two less for Wigan would have made a big difference in April
Arsenal at home – the loss & performance summed up our season….just not good enough

WHAT MADE YOU ANGRY

Liverpool performance – No fight, no pride, nothing (Hugh Collingwood)
Referees (Alan Hart)
Pardew’s utterances in the press (Ron Talbot and many many more)
Mad team selections and tactics (Sarah Morgan)
Where do you start? (Paddy Imray),
McManaman, Halsey,Whelan and Martinez (Mick Hardman)
Lack of support from board (Robert Ramsey)
Traipsing all the way to Brighton for what? (Ian Skinner)
Cisse’s rubbish finishing (K.Chambers)
Fans setting off smoke flares (David Punton)
The FA (Dennis Leach)
Fans wanting Pardew sacked after a poor season, too often this has created instability and disaster in the past (Dave Walker)
Displays against Liverpool and Sunderland by certain players (Anonymous)
Starting the season with a weaker squad than last year, with extra games to contend with/Wigan’s attitude to ‘that’ tackle….both Martinez & Whelan were a disgrace to football/Not replacing Demba Ba/ Idiotic pitch invasions at European home games/Obertan’s obvious lack of commitment (Bruce Renwick)
Continual poor performances from apparently great players.
Tiote continually getting caught in possession in dangerous areas.
Cabaye looking slow, clueless and disinterested.
Cisse scoring about one in four chances.
10 yard passes missing their target by 6.
