Mike Ashley Should Have Gone Pop
An alternative candidate for Joe Kinnear’s recent appointment has been put forward by ex-NUFC midfield maestro, Mick ‘Zico’ Martin.
Zico said; “Joe has experience but has antagonised the fans and they can’t associate with him.”
Speaking to the Daily Star, Zico also came up with a local lad who has also even tasted trophy success at St.James’ Park, not many of them still about!
Mick Martin suggests that Bryan ‘Pop’ Robson would have been ideal as director of football at Newcastle.
Pop won the Fairs Cup with Newcastle of course in 1969 and recently lost his Chief Scout job with the mackems.
Whether or not he was ideal for the job, it is stating the obvious that Robson would have been given the goodwill of the fans, unlike Joe Kinnear – who Newcastle United fans saw quite enough of to form a judgement in his brief spell as manager.
