Joe Kinnear – Can You Judge A Book By Its Cover?
So can you, judge a book by its cover that is?
Well in Joe Kinnear’s case he looks a completely open book, not a lot remains hidden when you like the sound of your own voice like he does.
Well in actual fact Joe did get around to doing one, back in the days when he’d achieved fame/notoriety with Wimbledon and wasn’t just famous for swearing and ‘forgetting’ the difference between fantasy and reality.
Thanks to David (who works in The Mag’s Online Shop) we came across Joe’s autobiography, it was released back in 2000 so may be a bit tough to track down apart from maybe the odd charity shop.
Back in those days the choice of cover, especially the wording, would have been done in the best possible taste of living up to those lovely characters at Wimbledon.
Thirteen years on and the cover resonates in a different way and maybe sad for the main character as well, some people have questioned whether Joe Kinnear is ill and should never have been put in this position where he’s getting ridiculed, after saying the most ridiculous things admittedly.
Maybe the title of Joe’s autobiography applies at least as much to our owner as it does to his new main man, after six years he is still making the same mistakes.
A definition of insanity is said to be repeatedly doing the same thing but expecting a different outcome. Over to you Mike.
