Can Mike Ashley Turn Down A Totally Free New Premier League Team?

Maybe at this point we can really say that the lunatics have truly taken over the asylum in the English Premier League.

The finances of English football are so out of control that a quite bizarre situation has developed thanks to what happens in the transfer market.

Never before have so many left clubs after seeing out their contracts and never has there been so many, especially mad when you look at what some of these players cost and the fact that many of them aren’t even ready for the knackers yard, certainly at least in terms of age.

Out of the pool of players released this summer, here is a first eleven that Mike Ashley could pick up without a penny spent on actual transfer fees. The club they are leaving/have left is in brackets;

Schwarzer (Fulham)

Dunne (Aston Villa)
Upson (West Ham)
Gallas (Spurs)
Squillaci (Arsenal)

Bentley (Spurs)
Denilson (Arsenal)
Malouda (Chelsea)
Benayoun (Chelsea)

Santa Cruz (Manchester City)
Petric (Fulham)

Will Mike see ‘value’ in no transfer fee and big wages for any/all of these?

If he was after subs as well then you can add the following;

Cole (West Ham)
Owen (Stoke)
Bramble (Mackems)
Gera (West Brom)
Pennant (Stoke)
Di Santo (Wigan)
Martin (Norwich)
