Why Is It A Point Gained For Sunderland And Two Lost For Newcastle?

As long suffering Newcastle fans, we are only too aware of how the press and fair reporting go out of the window when it comes to all things United.

On Saturday we picked up a very useful point at West Ham. The same West Ham who the press were gloating for a week, had Fat Sam, Nolan and Carroll waiting to send us down.

Granted, the results of Aston Villa and Wigan took the shine off the draw but nonetheless most press reports concentrated on the ‘2 points lost’.

Then last night the mackems (a point behind United at kick-off) faced Stoke and an expected 3 points.

They draw 1-1 and the press today are all talking about the mackems’ point ‘won’ edging them towards safety.

It is worth remembering that the mackems next play Southampton who have a decent away record and are not safe themselves. Then they play Spurs away.

It is very conceivable that they will get a maximum of one point out of these 2 games.

The press have concentrated on our relegation fight but appear to have all but ignored the plight the mackems are in.

We’ll see.
