Why All Right Thinking Newcastle Fans Will Want A Crystal Palace Win Over Watford
I must admit to being ignorant of a situation that may come to a shoddy conclusion today.
Like most football fans you are so wrapped up in your own team and in my case what is happening around Newcastle United and issues that directly affect them.
So it came as some surprise when I belatedly cottoned on to what has been going on at Watford this season. I couldn’t believe what had been allowed to occur and it just sums up what a waste of time the people are who run football, earning fortunes and yet allowing something like this to occur.
If you are still ignorant like I was, today Watford line up against Crystal Palace with the winner promoted to the Premier League.
The mad statistic though is that Watford have 12 (TWELVE) on loan players in their squad.
Last summer the club was bought by the Italian Pozzo family, who also own Udinese and Spanish club Granada, again, don’t ask me how that is allowed either, simply ridiculous.
Amongst the dozen on loan players, ten of them are on season-long loans from Udinese who the Pozzo family also own. After today’s match Watford will only have 14 professional players when the 12 on loan players come to the end of their short-term contracts.
This situation broke no rules but then that just shows how useless the people responsible for drawing up the rules are.
Travelling fans know what a nightmare Selhurst Park is to get to but Crystal Palace are the only team I’ll be cheering on today.
