Where Newcastle Would Have Finished If Every Shot That Hit The Woodwork Had Gone In…

A lot of conversations about football include references to ‘what if’?

What if Newcastle had signed Rooney? What if Sam Allardyce had stayed? What if Mike Ashley hadn’t bought Newcastle? etc etc

In a league table put together by OPTA, the question was posed; what if every shot that hit the woodwork had gone in?

So all of the information was fed in to their system and a new league table drawn up, showing how things would have finished in the Premier League.

Surely Newcastle United have suffered more than anybody this season with injuries, Europe etc etc, so luck with shots that hit the post/bar must be a racing cert to back up Alan Pardew’s contention that Newcastle have been so unlucky in that area as well…

Looks like the woodwork saved us!
