Time For Newcastle To Go With French Wingers And Two Up Top

9 years ago

This next game against West Ham could pretty much see us safe, or see this relegation saga go to the wire.

There can be no more mistakes on Pardew’s part regarding team selection, we’re playing a strong West Ham side so we need to field our best possible team.

Considering our injuries I think that has to be;

Elliot, Simpson, M’biwa, S.Taylor, Haidara, Cabaye, Sissoko, Marveaux, Ben Afra, Gouffran, Cisse.

The back four should stay the same except for Simpson who’ll come in for the suspended Debuchy. Both Cabaye and Sissoko should be played in centre midfield as that is Sissoko’s proper position and where he can have the right influence on the game.

Given Tiote’s terrible form I think he should be lucky to even find a place on the bench, with Anita looking better at the moment and ahead of him in the queue. This leaves Ben Afra and Marveaux on the wings to provide chances for Gouffran and Cisse who should be paired up front.

This is maybe Alan Pardew’s most important team selection of the season and he can’t afford to get it wrong  if we wish to get something from this crucial game.
