Ten Newcastle Young Players To Line Up For Loans
The French invasion in January belatedly brought an acceleration in the policy of putting Newcastle’s younger players out on loan.
Performances in the early part of the season had seen no suggestion that anybody was anywhere near good enough for the first team squad, with the possible exception of Gael Bigirimana, plus of course Santon and then Haidara when he arrived.
To me it is essential for both club and players that all of the youngsters who are seen as being at a certain level get out on loan in the coming season. At this moment I don’t believe any of the following are capable of holding their own at Newcastle but they could well come on in leaps and bounds with regular football at a lower level.
The players who must go out on loan are;
Campbell, Tavernier, Inman, Dummett, Ferguson, Sammy Ameobi, Newton, Richardon, Good and Vuckic.
Moves are already afoot for Ferguson to spend more time at Birmingham and Inman to return to Crewe, with the respective managers both publicly declaring their interest in doing so.
If out of those ten players we could get one or two in the first 18 at Newcastle in two years time then to me that would represent massive success, anything more than that and you are simply unrealistic.
