Steve Harper Is Jumping Off The ‘Rollercoaster’

As no doubt you know, Steve Harper will be leaving St.James’ Park after twenty years on the bench…sorry, between the sticks!

With goalkeepers having a bit more leeway as to how long they carry on, our long serving keeper has been talking about his future plans and his time at Newcastle.

This is what Harper said to the Mirror;

“I am leaving after twenty years. I will be listening to offers but we shall see. I’ll be on holiday and my phone will be on.

Newcastle United is a rollercoaster, there are highs and lows but it is time to step off the rollercoaster!”

To be honest I am a bit of a softie when it comes to theme parks and fast rides and all of that.

However, if I had to pick a ride to travel on it would be the ‘Steve Harper Rollercoaster’.

I can’t see it picking up much speed and the only problem would be the length of time you’d have to spend sitting down waiting to move.

Like the rest of us Steve Harper has indeed watched the Newcastle United rollercoaster pass by.
