Pardew To Go For Experience At West Ham
When interviewed after the Liverpool match and analysing where it had gone wrong, Alan Pardew made an interesting comment as to his team selection for the match at West Ham.
The manager said;
“Perhaps we needs a little bit more experience and I’ll look at that in the selection next week.”
If players such as Ben Arfa and Coloccini are fit then to me it is a no-brainer that they should play and I’m sure the manager would agree, I think though he must be referring to other players who may not necessarily be seen as automatic first choice from those available.
The three players I wouldn’t put it past the manager playing are Steve Harper, Shola Ameobi and Mike Williamson.
I can see the kind of case he could/would make for each; experienced pair of hands to deal with the pressure, Mr.Reliable to give us more attacking threat and take some of the load off Cisse, going like for like to mark Carroll.
I can sort of see a logic with Williamson even though I don’t particularly rate him but I’d be really worried if Pardew played the likes of Shola and Harper ahead of Gouffran/Ben Arfa and Elliot.
I’m sure common sense will win the day…
