Pardew ‘I’ve Learnt A Lot And I’ll Be Better For It’
In a post-match interview after the Arsenal defeat, Alan Pardew appeared to be maybe trying to rebuild some bridges with sections of the Newcastle support who he has been at odds with.
The manager was lavish with his praise of the support and made clear that it shouldn’t be taken for granted.
This is what Alan Pardew had to say to the club’s official TV channel;
“I think you see in the first half that we look a different team without the pressure on. The quality we showed in that half was terrific against a great Arsenal team who were bang in form.
I wanted to highlight the fact that we get fifty two thousand and we’d probably get fifty two thousand in the Championship but that doesn’t mean to say that we should just expect that. We have to deliver better and we have to deliver better performances and a better commitment to games.
I’ve learnt a lot and I’ll be better for it.”
Any doubts about the manager’s position also seem to have been swept away as he talks positively about what is needed next season.
Victories on the football pitch are the only think that keep everybody happy and on that score Newcastle have largely failed this past season.
If actions follow Alan Pardew’s words then there will be a chance for the support to unite again behind the manager – we’ll see.
