Pardew Admits His Players’ Professionalism Is On The Line

Alan Pardew’s first meeting with the media after accusations of players not trying, was always going to be a charged affair.

Despite the offending journalist being banned for claiming there was a split in the dressing room, the issue was nailed on to be a topic of discussion.

When the subject came up at Alan Pardew’s pre-match press conference, this is what he had to say;

“I find that accusation (French players giving up) insulting. If you think because some of our players are from a foreign country they aren’t bothered…it is just ridiculous.

Of course they’re bothered; our professionalism is on the line. We have our own destiny in our hands, no one else’s, only we can put it right.”

The accusations have obviously brought a spirited response from our manager and hopefully it will produce a similarly spirited, but focused, reaction from the players.

A huge match for everybody connected to Newcastle United but only eleven people have the chance to put things right tomorrow.
