Latest On Newcastle United Injury Front

Initial reports said that Moussa Sissoko had picked up an ankle injury which meant he didn’t even travel to West Ham. However, Alan Pardew has now confirmed that it is a knee injury and for Newcastle’s match at QPR he has said it is a case of ‘wait and see’.

While at full-back, Mathieu Debuchy will return from suspension on Sunday but Haidara will miss out, while fluctuating reports on Davide Santon’s possible availability in the final two matches have taken another upward curve with the manager saying ‘We’re pushing Santon to be available’.

The latest injury for Pardew is that Shola Ameobi left Upton Park on crutches, while the nature of his injury hasn’t been confirmed he was limping towards the end of Saturday’s match after what looked like picking up a foot/ankle injury.

On more positive news, the manager confirmed that Ben Arfa was taken off because he tired, rather than any reaction to his ongoing hamstring problem.

Alan Pardew has two more players available as Sammy Ameobi and Shane Ferguson are back at St.James’ Park after loan spells.

It would be a brave/reckless manager though who put any faith in either of them to dig us out of trouble after failing to impress earlier in the season.

Often though you find the most unlikely heroes so never say never.
