Exclusive – Alan Pardew’s 8 Year Contract Pay-Off Clause Revealed

Mike Ashley stunned English football when he handed Alan Pardew an unheard of eight year contract, leaving many to question how wise such a move was despite Newcastle’s relative success last season.

While sceptics claimed it was simply trying to provide a pretence of stability with a publicity stunt, even those who were willing to believe that the contract was given in the right spirit still wondered the wisdom of the move in case things went pear-shaped.

‘I’ll Get My Coat…’

With the pear now definitely shaped, the question has once again arisen about the eight year contract and how it would work if Mike Ashley decided to wield the axe, whether Newcastle stay up or not.

There’s been a wide range of opinions/guesstimates as to what any pay-off would be in reality.

On the one hand some believing that Ashley will have to pay up the seven remaining years of Alan Pardew’s contract, while others convinced that such a sharp operator as Ashley will not have exposed himself to any such risk and Pardew will be lucky to be entitled to even get his BFH – Bus Fare Home.

However, we can exclusively reveal that the sack for Alan Pardew will lead to a unique pay-off, the first of its kind we believe in the UK and almost certainly the world.

If Alan is shown the door he will be presented with three options.

On dismissal Alan Pardew will be entitled to take any one of the following; Gabriel Obertan, Mike Williamson, or everybody with the surname Ameobi.

As you can imagine this will be a difficult choice as Pardew looks to his future and whoever he decided to take, the fans will be sure to wish them well on their departure…
