Douglas Hall Comes Out Of Hiding

As Newcastle United are possibly on the brink of another crisis, it is quite apt that Douglas Hall’s name has popped up in the press.

Sir John Hall’s son became Deputy Chairman at Newcastle United and was of course caught in the News Of The World sting alongside Freddy Shepherd with the infamous comments referring to Aln ‘Mary Poppins’ Shearer, replica shirts made for a fiver and the good ladies of Tyneside described as ‘dogs’.

Douglas went into exile in Gibraltar some years ago and has cropped up in the news over there.

Spain’s number one English news website, The Olive Press, has reported that Douglas is now taking a keen interest in politics.

Hopefully he’ll be as successful in his political aspirations as he was at St.James’ Park, as our ex-Deputy Chairman attended the launch of the UK Independence Party in Gibraltar.

The launch was held in the Lord Nelson pub and a UKIP representative said;

“It is clear Gibraltar is facing problems with sovereign infringement. The lack of backbone from Whitehall isn’t helping and we believe we can make a difference.”

Maybe Douglas is the man to make that difference, just like he did at Newcastle United…
