Coloccini Heads Back To (Play For) Argentina
It was claimed that Newcastle United suffered from their players’ involvement in international matches last summer, particularly the European Championships, but some of our players aren’t going to have that much time lying on a beach this time either.
While we are unsure about his future club career, Fabricio Coloccini showed in the last few matches that he has still got star quality. Subsequently, he has been called up for Argentina’s World Cup qualifiers in June;
Friday 7 June Argentina v Columbia
Tuesday 11 June Ecuador v Argentina
Mathieu Debuchy and Yohan Cabaye are also heading over to South America and have the following friendly matches;
Wednesday 5 June Uruguay v France
Sunday 9 June Brazil v France
Having kissed and made up with his national team set-up, Papiss Cisse will be playing World Cup qualifiers;
Saturday 8 June Angola v Senegal
Saturday 15 June Liberia v Senegal
Cheick Tiote also has a busy time ahead as the Ivory Coast play World Cup qualifiers;
Saturday 8 June Gambia v Ivory Coast
Sunday 16 June Tanzania v Ivory Coast
If you look hard enough then I’m sure you will be able to catch most of these matches on some TV channel but all I’m interested in is that they are fit for purpose come August for Newcastle United.
