Carroll Joining West Ham (or at least that’s today’s story)
The (alleged) future of Andy Carroll continues to ebb and flow and the only sure thing appears to be that Carroll has absolutely no long-term future at Anfield.
While there were recent reports of the striker being desperate to come back to Newcastle and willing to take a pay-cut, now it is claimed he is ‘definitely’ on his way to East London.
The Express are running story saying that; ‘The England striker desperately wants to stay at Upton Park’.
The report goes on to claim that West Ham have offred £10m but are prepared to go up to £12, while Liverpool are holding out for £17m.
The figures looking very similar to the ones used in the ‘Carroll to Newcastle’ story a week or so ago.
While Liverpool will be looking to get cash in as quick as possible to use on signings they want to make, it would seem guaranteed they’ll want to recover every penny/cent they can of the £35m.
With Newcastle staying up it means there are potentially at least two clubs who may want him and any prospect of an auction of some kind will cheer Liverpool’s American owners up a little bit.
Meaning any kind of quick/cheap deal is pretty unlikely.
I’m sure Andy Carroll will help fill a few pages up in the coming weeks and months.
