Alan Pardew Confirms Coloccini In Line To Start At West Ham

With a crucial match against West Ham looking on Saturday, Alan Pardew made clear earlier this week how important he felt his captain was to the team and that he was hopeful Coloccini would make the game;

“I think Colo’s important this week, no disrespect to the two centre-backs who played against Liverpool but I think his leadership is important.

 Hopefully he comes through this week and we can get him out on the pitch, with the armband on.”

At today’s pre-match press conference for that match at Upton Park, Alan Pardew was predictably asked about whether his captain was in line to start against West Ham.

Alan Pardew kind of answered the question when he said that Fabricio Coloccini, “Was fit and well”.

With Colo joining in full training on Monday, I’m sure that he will start against Kevin Nolan and Andy Carroll’s West Ham.

With the manager confirming that there have been no problems with Colo in training or setbacks, we’ll find out if he makes a difference to what is currently the worst Premier League defence with 66 goals conceded.
