Wigan Fiasco Referee Halsey Ruled Out Of Premier League

As well as Massadio Haidara, there is somebody else who continues to suffer from the repercussions of the fiasco at Wigan.

The referee that day, Mark Halsey, has not refereed in the Premier since, officiating only in the Championship and League One in the last few weeks.

The latest set of Premier League fixtures have just been announced and Halsey has still not been given a Premier League match to referee.

This weekend he will act as the fourth official at Aston Villa when they host Fulham, while the following midweek Halsey has also been ignored for the handful of Premier League games taking place.

Mark Halsey claimed that his view was obstructed on the Haidara ‘challenge’ but maybe the fact he also failed to spot the obvious handball for the winner, could have tipped him over the edge.

It will be over a month without a Premier League match and maybe the writing is on the wall for the end of the season and he will be permanently demoted/retired.

Unfortunately, the real villain, Callum McManaman, has walked away without any punishment. Though of course it will be very interesting to see what happens if he ever lines up against Newcastle United again

Great odds available for the Benfica match, especially if you aren’t already a customer of BetVictor and take advantage of their special offer of a £25 free matched bet.
