Suarez Misses Newcastle Match After FA Ban
Luis Suarez will miss the Newcastle match on Saturday at St.James’ Park plus the following nine games.
The FA have today at last got something right as they have handed the Liverpool striker a ten match ban after the biting incident with Chelsea’s Ivanovic.
Having already served a seven match ban for an identical offence in Holland, it was inconceivable that Suarez would get any less than that this time.
When you add in his previous eight game ban for racist abuse to Evra, it was surely a no-brainer for the FA to come down hard.
Suarez does have until midday on Friday (26th April) to challenge the punishment but surely even somebody as thick as him must realise that the public disgust means the FA would be a ‘little’ unlikely to consider reducing his sentence, with the only possibility of a change being to increase it.
He might be a great player but as they say, once bitten twice shy.
