South America Added To Newcastle United World Map

The first photo is from the ground of Velez Sarsfield in Buenos Aires, where I’m photographed watching River Plate v Deportivo Merlo. River’s ground was not available due to a Pink Floyd concert going on at their own ground.

River won it 3-0 in one of the most hostile atmospheres ever, complete with a massive Union Jack with an Argentinian ‘bird’ in the middle of it (hence my lack of toon shirt or anything representing England!).

The game was marred somewhat by quite a crowd surge getting out the ground which would have put the old east corner to shame!

The second picture is from the ground of Colo Colo in Santiago. Colo Colo lost the game to a team called Palestino 0-1 who wildly celebrated amongst the 4 away fans they brought along!

During the game, there was a 7.4 magnitude earthquake down the coast, people began leaving their seats, however the game carried on as normal!!

What a place, anyway enjoy the pics.
