Police Horse Fine After Derby Attack And Is Having A Day Off
Most of us had two different reasons to hold our heads in disbelief on Sunday.
The first was when Newcastle’s players offered up the derby match on a plate to their mackem rivals.
This is Bud the morning after Newcastle, he is in the paddock and appears fine, thanks everyone for the concern #bud twitter.com/WYPHorses/stat…

After the final whistle we then had the embarrassing pictures beamed around the world of people of Newcastle causing mayhem in their own city.
The abiding mental picture for most people will be the person in a Newcastle shirt attacking a police horse (see video of the attack below) as the trouble kicked off.
As a nation of animal lovers it was always going to get the headlines and while it is really difficult for most people to understand those who attack the police, it is far beyond that for most as to why anybody would take it out on animals.
It turned out the horse was called Bud and the West Yorkshire Police, where he is based have confirmed that he is fine after his busy day on the streets of Newcastle Upon Tyne and is having the day off before returning to duty tomorrow.
