Pardew “Maybe We Thought We Were Tired”
Talking after the win against Fulham, it was interesting to see how Alan Pardew saw the flow of the game.
Speaking to NUFC TV, the manager thought his team lacked composure and were nervous in that first half, as well as tired. However, Alan Pardew then qualified that with it maybe being a more mental problem to work through than a physical one;
Second half a lot more composure, a lot more assurance about the way we passed it and our movement.
We caused them no end of problems and I genuinely thought midway through the second half that the goal was going to come.
It didn’t come…then when the goal did go in, it was just unbelievable.”
Either way I thought players like Gutierrez and Sissoko just kept on going and going, even though they looked knackered, whether that was mental or physical!
