Pardew Believes Ben Arfa Could Make Sunderland Match
There were rumours yesterday afternoon that Hatem Ben Arfa was having a late fitness test in advance of the Fulham match, obviously he didn’t feature but it has now been confirmed that Ben Arfa was put through his paces at St.James’ Park yesterday, whether there was any intention of involving him though now appears unlikely.
The good news is that speaking to the Shields Gazette today, Alan Pardew has confirmed that he expects Ben Arfa to play before the end of the season and he could be ready to play some part as soon as next Sunday against the mackems;
“What is happening with Hatem is the scan has shown he’s got scar tissue still in the hamstring.
We have sent him to three experts, mainly a French one, who has been looking after him, and he thinks he is 100%.
We are now treating him as that, he’s running, there could be a cameo as soon as Sunderland.
He has got a week’s work and if he gets through that, he could be involved.”
