Alan Pardew Is No Sir Bobby Or Kevin Keegan
Do you really think other managers, unlike Pardew, would have got Ashley to spend after finishing in Europe last season?
I remember Souness ruing our injury problems and Allardyce, oh and Roeder, and Hughton and Pardew.
Personally, I think Roeder, Hughton and Pardew are all motivators, not tacticians. They do well for a season or two, then it wears off. Enthusiasm and team spirit only get you so far. There has to be more from the manager.
Our defence has more holes than an Allegro, our midfield has the kind of imagination normally brought on by a Mogadon and we don’t have a front line. We only have Cisse.
The problem is that if you look at them as individuals we have a brilliant team, who else outside the top five can boast the likes of Krul, Taylor, Colo, Tiote, Cabaye, Ben Arfa, Cisse and now Sissoko and Marveaux? We obviously have the talent, we just don’t have the cohesion. Robson and Keegan understood cohesion; not Roeder, Hughton and Pardew.
Personally, I think we have the individuals to play top 4.
First of all sort out why we continually top the injury league, then sort out the manager.
Roeder, Hughton and Pardew all have one thing in common. Too nice. We need somebody with substance.
Somebody who has won something and somebody who can stand in front of the cameras and tell the truth.
