Manager Claims Newcastle’s Players Are Fresh And Ready

Talking ahead of the match at the Hawthorns, Alan Pardew has claimed that without a midweek match, the players have looked a lot fresher than recent times.

The manager is looking positively at the match against West Brom and had this to say;

“We’ve worked hard on the team this week and we’re looking forward to Saturday.

We have had a little bit of time to work with the players and for them to be fresh, they have been so different in training.

The players know that they carry the responsibility in the last five games to get some good results.

The target is just to get forty points as quickly as possible, that will be the same for any team in the bottom half.

Steve Clarke was at our game (v Sunderland) so I’m sure he’ll be thinking they have got a great chance.

We need to give a much better and improved showing, hopefully we will do that.”

I don’t totally buy the knackered because of extra European matches excuse, to win only one away Premier League match all season tells me that Newcastle’s problems have been about a lot more than the European commitment, plus we haven’t exactly hung around for long in the domestic cups.

If we pick up another defeat today then Pardew’s problem is what does he say next week, a bit like players who say after a defeat that they are going to put it right blah blah blah…then don’t.

The manager and his players can have only so many excuses for ending up in a relegation fight, today they have to show what they are made of.

Great odds available for the West Brom match, especially if you aren’t already a customer of BetVictor and take advantage of their special offer of a £25 free matched bet.
