Help Catch Newcastle United Shirt Thieves
There are unfortunately some truly disgusting people and we need your help to catch some thieves.
A signed Newcastle United shirt was presented by Alan Shearer on the occasion of the refurbishment of the children’s ward at North Tyneside General Hospital (Rake Lane, North Shields) in March 2002. The framed shirt was donated by Mr. Ron Morton and took pride of place for eleven years.
Since then it has hung in the playroom of the children’s ward and given a lot of pleasure to the children spending time in the hospital and their visiting families & friends.
Sadly, earlier this week, between Monday morning and Wednesday morning, the frame was pulled apart and the shirt removed by a callous thief or thieves.
The shirt will have some value as it was signed by Sir Bobby Robson and his team of 2002, so we’d be grateful if you could get in touch with the police, or ourselves and we’ll pass the details on, if you are offered the shirt or have any information that will help the hospital get it back.
No doubt it would be too much to ask that whoever has done this, has a sudden attack of guilt and hands it back themselves.
