Di Canio Has Major Fitness Worries – Titus Bramble Might Be Fit!
While Alan Pardew will be taking stock after the Benfica match and hope he hasn’t picked up any extra injuries, our derby rivals have problems of their own.
With Fletcher and Cattermole injured, Craig Gardner suspended, Di Canio is also waiting on the fitness of a number of other players.
In addition midfielder David Vaughan and defender Carlos Cuellar are also both facing a fitness fight to make the derby match at St.James’ Park.
To be honest, the bits I see of Sunderland, apart from their keeper and maybe Sessegnon, plus Fletcher who scores their goals – the rest seem pretty much interchangeable.
I think they have a lot of very average players and could probably put out two teams that wouldn’t be any stronger or weaker than the other.
As always it is more about how Newcastle play on the day, we’ve got the better players and if they turn up then we win, end of story.
