Demba Ba means ‘No Disrespect’ To Newcastle But…

When interviewed, Demba Ba has shown a mixed up view of his past and where he’s at now.

I don’t know whether he is feeling the pressure at Chelsea and so wants to show how great he thinks everything is about his new club, but as he has done before, he has knocked his previous clubs and then in the same breath tried to qualify his insult.

(To feature like Dean, send in your letters/articles for the magazine/website to [email protected] – write about anything NUFC related – past, present or future)

This is what Ba said to the Independent;

“When they said ‘You’re going to Chelsea’ I was like ‘Yeah, it is like the start of my career’.

I’d always worked to get to a club like Chelsea and start winning some trophies, doing what I have got to do.

It (previous clubs) was serious as well. No disrespect to other clubs, it was serious, but this is another level.

I started at the bottom and now I’m at the top, not the roof but just the top.”

Nobody forces him to come out with comments such as Chelsea being the ‘start’ of his career.

Naturally he is belittling the likes of Newcastle and West Ham when he makes comments like that and it doesn’t make it alright when he then says he doesn’t mean any ‘disrespect’ to his previous employers.

While as things stand he obviously has more chance of winning medals (and earning more money) at Stamford Bridge than St.James’ Park, Chelsea weren’t even at the races this year in terms of the title and when he talked about his move back in January, it was conveniently ignored that Chelsea hadn’t even finished above Newcastle last season.

If Ba is at the top, ‘near the roof’, I wonder where he reckons he was at Newcastle? Heading up the stairs or stuck in the bog?!!
