Coloccini On Way Back, Or Is He?

8 years ago

While Steven Taylor and Mapou Yanga-Mbiwa have fitted together well, it wouldn’t do any harm to have influential captain, Fabricio Coloccini available again for what is still a relegation fight at St.James’ Park.

Newcastle’s captain injured himself in the home match against Southampton, breaking two bones in his back when performing an acrobatic clearance.

Alan Pardew has today said that he hopes to have Colo back before the end of the season but I’m not so sure;

“Colo is training, he hasn’t done full physical training – that is due to come, hopefully this week.

We’re fingers crossed because obviously that would be a big boost for us to have our captain back.”

With Coloccini not even involved in full training yet and only three weeks left of the season after the Liverpool match, I’m sceptical as to whether we’ll see him back on the pitch this season, or indeed ever, in a black & white shirt.
