Alan Pardew Left With No Defence
I did hear a rumour that we might have had the odd injury but to currently be leading the pack in terms of goals conceded is beyond a joke.
Just as if Newcastle had dropped from last season’s fifth to say tenth this time but not a relegation fight, you could point to injuries as a factor – likewise, with injuries you could expect United to concede a few more than last season’s 51 but with three matches to go we’ve already leaked 66!

The fact that Newcastle have been hit for four or more by Manchesters City and United, as well as Arsenal and Liverpool, is bad enough. However, even worse were the timid surrenders to Everton, Stoke and Reading when having been in a winning position.
This fragile nature suggests a much deeper problem than just injuries to key defenders.
When you add that to the fact that dismal teams such as QPR and Reading confirmed their relegations today, in fact they’ve both accepted relegation some time ago, yet still they haven’t conceded as many as Newcastle.
United haven’t just had a poor season, with these kind of extremes it needs a major sorting out.
