Recent Form League Is Dismal News For Newcastle and Sunderland

The last thing you need at the end of any race is to lose your momentum.

The race to relegation is no different and the recent form guide makes dismal reading for Newcastle and our mackem friends.

The bottom six line up as follows, total number of current points followed by how many points won in the last six matches;

15th Newcastle 33 (6)
16th Sunderland 31 (2)
17th Aston Villa 30 (9)
18th Wigan 30 (10)
19th QPR 23 (7)
20th Reading 23 (0)

The likes of Fulham, West Ham and Southampton have all pulled themselves up recently by taking nine or more points from their last six matches.

Newcastle have put an incredible amount of pressure on their home fixtures with a feeble four points from their last thirty three away from home, Alan Pardew might point to Manchester City as a place where Newcastle were up against it but United have returned pointless from Wigan, Swansea, Fulham, Stoke and Southampton in that period.

While we haven’t reached the depths of Reading and Sunderland with zero and two points respectively, Newcastle are desperate to pick up points in the next league fixture off a Fulham team who have only been beaten in the Premier league by the two Manchester teams since the turn of the year.

Teams around us are pretty much all picking up points and the last thing we need is to go into the derby match desperate for points, win against Fulham and the clouds will clear but anything else and we face some nervous times.
